Apart from the cloudy weather, the surface winds would be strong and gusty at times in the City, the sources said. “There is an upper air cyclonic circulation over west central Bay of Bengal, off North Andhra Pradesh coast, and it is extending up to 7.6 km above sea level. Due to this, cloudy weather and rainfall will prevail in Karnataka, specially coastal areas, Malnad and surrounding places,” said B Puttanna, director-in-charge of Indian Meteorological Department, Bangalore. “The normal amount of rainfall expected in the City this month is 109 mm. About 27.66 mm of rainfall has been received till now. It will be more than normal this month due to the cyclonic activity,” said Puttanna.
