Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited several areas affected by recent hailstorm and unseasonal rain in Bagalkot district on Saturday.
He took stock of the loss caused to grape, watermelon, papaya, pomegranate and chiku crops in Gaddanakeri, Seemikeri, Tulasigeri and kaladagi villages.
Agriculture Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, IT BT and District Minister S R Patil, Kannada and Culture Minister Umashri, MLAs H Y Meti and J T Patil, University of Horticultural Sciences(UHS) Vice-Chancellor Dr S B Dandin, Deputy Commissioner Manoj Jain, ZP CEO S G Patil, Additional Deputy Commissioner P T Rudragowda and other officials accompanied the Chief Minister.
Earlier, at N S Doddamani’s grape farm at Gaddanakeri, the Chief Minister listened to his woes and inspected the damage to the grape garden.
He also visited Subhas Handi’s farm at Seemikeri, farms of Kamalappa Dasar, S S Patil, Laxaman Madar, P H Pujar in Tulasigeri and the farms of A G Deshpande and Bhimappa Bilkeri at Kaladagi in Bagalkot taluk.
