Intense rainfall recorded in Sakleshpur

MYSORE, APRIL
13, 2014, DHNS:
Owing to the convective system,
Sakleshpur in Hassan district
received a rainfall of 50.5 mm on
Sunday. The intense rainfall
recorded in the region also
witnessed a hailstorm, resulting in
damages.
Several trees were uprooted and
electricity supply was affected
owing to the heavy downpour,
which lasted for about an hour.
Belur in the district too received
scattered rainfall of 24 mm during
the day. Parts of Alur and
Channarayapatna too recorded
isolated rainfall.
Kodagu district received scattered
rainfall during the day, with
Napoklu recording 25 mm rainfall
and Somwarpet 13 mm rainfall.
Isolated instances of rainfall was
also recorded at Nagamangala and
K R Pet in Mandya district and
Gundlupet and Chamarajanagar in
Chamarajanagar district.
Mysore district
However, Mysore did not receive
any rainfall during the day. With a
convective system in the region,
Kodagu and parts of Mysore
district are expected to receive
rainfall on Monday.
