Kudarur in Sagar taluk records highest rainfall in Karnataka
MANGALORE: Kudarur in Sagar taluk of Shimoga district recorded maximum rainfall of 74.9mm in Karnataka in last 24 hours up to 8.30am on Friday. Raichur hobli in Raichur taluk in Raichur district recorded maximum temperature of 35°C on June 27 at 3.30pm. Madikeri hobli in Madikeri taluk of Kodagu district recorded lowest minimum temperature of 16.3°C on June 28 at 5.45am, VS Prakash, director, KSNDMC, Bangalore said.
More than 90% relative humidity has been recorded in 35.4% geographical area in the state. Less than 25% of relative humidity has been recorded in 0% geographical area in the state. Rainfall over the state is considered scattered since 28% of hoblis and GPs recorded rainfall greater than or equal to 2.5mm. Rainfall was widespread in six districts; fairly widespread over two; scattered in one district; isolated in 15 districts, and negligible over six.
Heavy rain was reported in one district; rather heavy rain in five districts; moderate rain in 11 districts; light rain in seven districts, very light rain in four districts and no rain in two districts. South-west monsoon was normal in 16 districts and weak in the remaining 14 districts. Widespread, moderate to heavy rain received in Kodagu, Udupi, Shimoga, Dakshina Kannada, Haveri and Uttara Kannada districts.
Fairly widespread, moderate to rather heavy rain received in Chikmagalur and Davanagere districts. Scattered, no rain to moderate rain received in Bangalore Urban district. Isolated, light to moderate rain received in Bellary, Chikkaballapur, Koppal, Bangalore Rural, Hassan, Mandya, Belgaum, Bidar, Dharwad, Chitradurga, Raichur, Tumkur, Gadag, Kolar and Mysore districts. Dry weather condition prevailed in remaining parts of the state.
Karnataka for the period June 22 to June 28 recorded surplus rainfall of 13%. Against normal weighted average rainfall of 52.8mm in south-interior, north-interior, malnad and coastal parts, state recorded rainfall of 59.4mm. For 24-hour period ending 8.30am on June 28, four geographical regions received 4.6mm actual weighted average rainfall against normal weighted average rainfall of 7.6mm, a 40% deficit departure from normal.
