Sudden rain sends City into a tizzy BENGALURU, SEP 25, 2015,

Bengalureans who were heading outdoors or out of the City to enjoy the long weekend were greeted with a sudden downpour on Thursday evening.

The unexpected showers brought traffic to a halt in many parts of the City including Hudson Circle, Garuda Mall Junction, Windsor Manor Junction, T Chowdaiah Road and surrounding areas.

A tree was uprooted on 1st Main in Kempanna Layout. Water logging was reported at Anil Kumble Circle. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike control room did not receive many complaints.

According to Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) officials the City recorded 13.2 mm rainfall up to 5.30 pm, HAL airport received traces (0.1mm) of rain, while the international airport did not receive any rainfall at all. IMD has forecast thunder showers for the next couple of days. Mercury levels are also expected to dip, according to IMD officials.
