MANGALORE: Mamdapur in Raichur taluk
of Raichur district recorded maximum
rainfall of 108mm in Karnataka in last 24
hours up to 8.30am on Thursday.
Basavakalyan hobli in Basavakalyan taluk
of Bidar district recorded maximum
temperature of 40.6°C on May 29 at
4.45pm to 5pm. Kalgatagi hobli in
Kalgatagi taluk of Dharwad district
recorded lowest minimum temperature of
18.3°C on May 29 at 8pm, KSNDMC,
Bangalore said.
More than 90% relative humidity has been
recorded in 38% geographical area in the
state. Less than 30% of relative humidity
has been recorded in 6% geographical
area in the state. Rainfall over the state is
considered as scattered since 33% of
hoblis and GPs recorded rainfall greater
than or equal to 2.5mm. Rainfall was
widespread, scattered, and negligible in
five districts each; fairly widespread in
four; and isolated in remaining 11
districts.
Heavy rain was reported in eight districts;
rather heavy rain in five districts;
moderate rain in 10; light rain in two; very
light rain in four and no rain in one
district. Widespread, moderate to heavy
rain was received in Gulbarga, Yadgir,
Belgaum, Bidar and Raichur. Fairly
widespread, rather heavy to heavy rain
was received in Koppal, Dharwad, Bijapur
and Bagalkote districts.
Scattered, moderate to heavy rain was
received Haveri, Uttara Kannada, Gadag,
Udupi and Bellary districts. Isolated, light
to heavy rain was received in Kodagu,
Chikkaballapur, Shimoga, Dakshina
Kannada, Hassan, Mandya, Chikmagalur,
Chitradurga, Mysore, Tumkur and
Chamarajanagar districts. Dry weather
condition prevailed in remaining parts of
the state.
Karnataka for the period May 24 to May 30
recorded deficit rainfall of 4%. Against
normal weighted average rainfall of
24.2mm in south-interior, north-interior,
Malnad and coastal parts, state recorded
rainfall of 23.3mm. For the 24-hour period
ending 8.30am on May 30, four
geographical regions received 6.1mm
actual weighted average rainfall against
normal weighted average rainfall of
3.3mm, an 85% surplus departure from
normal.
