More rains in City over next 5 days BENGALURU, JULY 20, 2015

The City has been experiencing cooling showers and a drop in temperatures since the past two days.

This, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) officials, will continue for the next four to five days. On Monday, Bengaluru recorded 25.5mm rainfall at 9.30 pm. HAL Airport recorded 26.7 mm of rainfall.

Water-logging was reported at Cambridge Layout and near Dell company at Domlur.
A tree was uprooted in Rajajinagar 1st Block following the downpour on Monday evening.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) control room reported complaints of a manhole overflowing at Annasandrapalya in Mahadevapura.

Two houses were inundated due to sewage overflowing from the manhole and jetting machines were pressed into service to pump out water, said the Palike staff.

Speaking with Deccan Herald, IMD director in-charge S M Metri said the southwest monsoon was active over south-interior and coastal Karnataka. This is because of the presence of an upper air cyclonic circulation over the coastal areas of Bangladesh and the adjoining north Bay of Bengal between 1.5 km and 5.8 km above the mean sea level.

There is also an offshore trough at the mean sea level from the Karnataka coast to the Kerala coast. Under the influence of these two systems, rains will continue for the next 4 to 5 days, he said.
