40 mm of rain leaves Bengaluru localities flooded

Low-lying areas such as HSR Layout and Koramangala were inundated in a trice and traffic along major roads was affected due to waterlogging.

The Bengaluru traffic police put out advisories indicating traffic snarls during peak hours. As per the Twitter handle of the traffic police, waterlogging occurred at Kamaraj Road, Manyata Tech Park, Nehru Circlea and Electronic City, causing traffic congestion in most of these places. A BMTC bus was almost submerged near PES College in Electronic City.

Reports of water entering homes were received by the BBMP control room from HSR Layout, while trees fell in BTM Layout, Koramangala, Vasant Nagar and the Whitefield Road towards Hoodi.
