Yadhuru in Shivamogga district receives maximum rainfall of 74.5mm

MANGALURU: Yadhuru in Hosanagara taluk of Shivamogga district recorded maximum rainfall of 74.5mm in the last 24-hours up to 8.30am on August 13. Moka hobli in Ballari taluk of Ballari district recorded maximum temperature of 35.5°C at 2pm on August 12. Dudda hobli in Hassan taluk of Hassan district recorded lowest minimum temperature of 18.9°C from 12.30am to 1am on August 13, G S Srinivasa Reddy, director, KSNDMC said. 


More than 90% relative humidity has been recorded in 71% geographical area in the state. Less than 25% of relative humidity has been recorded in 0% geographical area in the state. Rainfall over the state is considered as fairly widespread since 53% of hoblis and gram panchayats recorded rainfall =2.5mm. Heavy rain was recorded in five gram panchayats; rather heavy rain over 74 gram panchayats; moderate rain in 1,049 gram panchayats; light rain in 873 gram panchayats; very light rain in 1,100 gram panchayats; and no rainfall in remaining 1,859 GPs across the state. 

Karnataka for the period from August 7 to August 13 recorded deficit rainfall of 14%. Against normal weighted average rainfall of 51mm in south-interior, north-interior, malnad and coastal parts, state recorded rainfall of 44mm. For 24-hours period ending 8.30am on August 13, four geographical regions received 7mm actual weighted average rainfall against normal weighted average rainfall of 7mm, a 10% deficit departure from weighted-average normal.
