MANGALURU: Brahmasamudra in Madhugiri taluk of Tumakuru district recorded maximum rainfall of 114mm in the last 24-hours up to 8.30am on October 7. Umbalamani hobli in Siddapur taluk of Uttara Kannada district recorded maximum temperature of 41.9°C at 10.45pm on October 6. Manalli hobli in Bidar taluk, Bidar district recorded lowest minimum temperature of 14.5°C from 5.30am to 5.45am on October 7, G S Srinivasa Reddy, director, KSNDMC said.
More than 90% relative humidity has been recorded in 87% geographical area in the state. Less than 25% of relative humidity has been recorded in 0% geographical area in the state. Rainfall over the state is considered as scattered since 44% of hoblis and gram panchayats recorded rainfall =2.5mm. Heavy rain was recorded in 13 gram panchayats; rather heavy rain in 116 gram panchayats; moderate rain in 954 gram panchayats, light rain in 722 gram panchayats; very light rain in 897 gram panchayats; and no rainfall in remaining 2,306 GPs across the state.
Karnataka for the period from October 1 to October 7 recorded surplus rainfall of 46%. Against normal weighted average rainfall of 45mm in south-interior, north-interior, malnad and coastal parts, state recorded rainfall of 65mm. For 24-hours period ending 8.30am on October 7, four geographical regions received 6mm actual weighted average rainfall against normal weighted average rainfall of 6mm, a 2% surplus departure from the weighted-average normal.
