MANGALURU: Isamudra in Chitradurga taluk of Chitradurga district recorded maximum rainfall of 84mm in the last 24-hours up to 8.30am on August 20. Arakeri hobli in Devadurga taluk of Raichur district recorded maximum temperature of 41.1°C at 6pm on August 19. Santhahalli hobli in Sompwarpet taluk of Kodagu district recorded lowest minimum temperature of 17.8°C at 6.30am on August 20, G S Srinivasa Reddy, director, KSNDMC said.
More than 90% relative humidity has been recorded in 65.5% geographical area in the state. Less than 25% of relative humidity has been recorded in 0% geographical area in the state. Rainfall over the state is considered as scattered since 30% of hoblis and gram panchayats recorded rainfall =2.5mm. Heavy rain was recorded in 10 gram panchayats; rather heavy rain in 79 gram panchayats; moderate rain in 645 gram panchayats; light rain in 486 gram panchayats; very light rain in 712 gram panchayats; and no rainfall in remaining 3,037 GPs across the state.
Karnataka for the period from August 14 to August 20 recorded deficit rainfall of 36%. Against normal weighted average rainfall of 48mm in south-interior, north-interior, malnad and coastal parts, state recorded rainfall of 31mm. For 24-hours period ending 8.30am on August 20, four geographical regions received 5mm actual weighted average rainfall against normal weighted average rainfall of 6mm, a 17% deficit departure from weighted-average normal.
