Heavy rains, coupled with thunder and lightning, pounded Kunigal and Madhugiri taluks and several parts of Tumakuru district since Friday night.
Thundershowers lashed Madhugiri town and several villages in the taluk during the interveneing period between Friday night and Saturday morning. As a result, many tanks and water bodies overflowed. According to the Indian Meterological department, Madhugiri town has received 42 mm of rainfall. Kunigal taluk too received copious rain since Friday night.
